March 2023 Director Newsletter

With the winter season coming to a close, I am thrilled to welcome the arrival of spring and the upcoming summer camp season. Spring brings about a sense of renewal, as we witness new growth and opportunities in the world around us. At camp, we embrace this same spirit of renewal as we prepare for another summer filled with adventure and fun.

Renewal means setting new goals for ourselves, discovering our passions, and challenging ourselves in new ways. At camp, we provide a secure and supportive environment to explore interests, develop skills, and push ourselves outside of our comfort zones.

But camp is not only about personal growth; it's also about building a sense of community and family. St. Joe's is like a second family, where we look out for each other and support each other's growth and development. With campers, counselors, and staff from diverse backgrounds and experiences, we all have the opportunity to learn from each other's unique perspectives.

Family is a core value at camp, and I believe that our camp community is like one big family. I encourage everyone to form close bonds with their fellow campers, counselors, and staff, treating each other with kindness, respect, and understanding. My hope is that everyone feels like a part of our family and carries the values they learn at camp with them throughout their lives.

At camp, we celebrate our differences and work together towards a common goal - creating a positive and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and valued. Whether it's during a team-building exercise or a nighttime campfire, you will form lifelong bonds with your fellow campers, counselors, and staff that extend far beyond your time at camp.

Just like how the arrival of spring means a chance to start fresh, camp offers us the opportunity to renew our spirits, make new friends, and create unforgettable memories. I cannot wait to see you this summer and provide you with a safe and supportive environment where you can grow, learn, and have a blast.

S'mores Truly,

Sarah
