At St. Joseph’s Youth Camp in Mormon Lake, just outside Flagstaff, we open our entire camp property to groups looking for a space that feels relaxed, welcoming, and completely their own. Whether you’re planning a family reunion, a retreat, a wedding celebration, a youth group weekend, a leadership gathering, or something else, SJYC offers a setting that is equal parts practical and memorable.
When you rent our camp, you’re not booking a conference center. You’re stepping into a place built for shared meals, late‑night laughter, group games in open fields, and quiet moments under tall pines.
And the best part? You get to make it yours.
A Camp Experience — Without the Extras You Don’t Need
One of the things groups love most about SJYC is the flexibility.
You bring the food. You set the schedule. You design your stay.
Our dining hall and fully equipped kitchen are ready for you, whether you want to cook together, bring in catering, or keep things simple. Our cabins, open spaces, fire ring, and recreation areas are yours to use throughout your stay.
We don’t offer meals or laundry. We don’t provide structured programming. We don’t dictate how your gathering should look.
Instead, we provide the space, and you create the experience.
For many groups, that freedom is exactly what makes a reunion more relaxed, a retreat more meaningful, or a wedding feel personal and joyful.
Camp Facilities
Our property can accommodate up to 140 guests, including tent and RV campers, making it ideal for large reunions, groups, and multi‑day retreats.
You’ll have access to:
12 bunk‑style cabins (10 per cabin)
Additional sleeping space in the Director’s and Nurse’s cabins (for an added cost)
A central shower house with individual stalls
Flush toilets and hot water sinks
A dining hall and commercial kitchen with stoves, ovens, walk‑in refrigeration, prep space, and cookware
An outdoor charcoal BBQ pit (fire restrictions permitting)
A fire ring with log seating
Sand volleyball, tetherball, and open field space for games and gatherings
Rental Season & Pricing
Our rental season runs May through September, with availability varying during our peak summer camp weeks. Our max group size is 140 people.
One-Day Rental (24 hours, noon to noon): $900
Multi-Day Rental: $800 per day
Optional Add-Ons:
Director’s Cabin: $65 per day
Nurse’s Cabin: $65 per day
A refundable $550 cleaning deposit is required at arrival.

Due to ongoing drought and the loss of our natural spring, all water at camp is now hauled in by truck. To help conserve resources, the following policy applies to all rentals beginning January 1, 2026:
Water Allotment:
1,000 gallons included with every rental
Rentals of 3+ nights include an extra 500 gallons per day
Overage Fee:
$100 per additional 1,000 gallons (rounded up to the next 1,000 gallons)
Deducted from your cleaning deposit; overages above that are due at checkout
Max Group Size: 140 people
Water is tracked by meter daily. Contact us for estimated water use based on your group size or past rentals.

Check availability: Review our Rental Calendar to confirm that your desired dates are open.
Review the lease agreement: Download and review the Lease Agreement.
Complete and submit the lease agreement: Email admin@sjycaz.com to request that the lease agreement be sent to you for e-signature.
Submit your payment by mail: Mail your payment check to:

Surprise, AZ 85374-0110Provide Proof of Insurance: At least 30 days before your rental date, email or mail a Certificate of Liability Insurance naming St. Joseph’s Youth Camp as an additional insured. This is required to finalize your booking.
